Petition to invest in Iowa's water, land and wildlife
Iowans deserve a cleaner environment. The bill to fund Iowa's natural resources is
still working its way through the legislature, and messages from our online
activists have been critical to our success so far!
We’ve made it
through three votes already, but now House leadership has sent the bill to the
Ways and Means Committee, which could decide to sit on it until time runs out
in the legislative session. We'll take these petition signatures to our rally at the capitol on April 9th, so please sign on to show your support for investing in Iowa's water, land and wildlife.
Petition Text
Iowans deserve a cleaner environment. We want cleaner water and better quality
hiking, biking, kayaking, hunting, fishing and wildlife watching opportunities
in our state. We want our rich soil to stay on the land where it nourishes,
rather than in our waterways where it kills life. We can make our state more
attractive to employers and help reverse the brain drain by investing in our environment.
Therefore, we are calling on you to support SJR 2002,
legislation that will empower Iowa voters to pass a constitutional amendment to
create a protected Natural Resource and Outdoor Recreation
Trust Fund, ensuring that Iowa finally invests in its environment.
