Thank Your Legislators
Congratulations and thanks to all who made calls, sent
emails, wrote letters and worked diligently for Iowa’s water, land, and
wildlife! On Thursday afternoon, SJR 2002, the sustainable funding bill won
soundly in the Iowa House with an 87 to 10 vote.
You all helped us win the first crucial victory on the path to amending the
Iowa constitution and creating a dedicated source of funding for our
environment. Next year we have to this all over again before the bill can go to
a vote of the people in 2010—but if we hadn’t won this week, the possibility of
cleaning up and protecting our waterways and parks would be further off still.
So great work, and thank you!
